Our Commitment

BeAccessible is committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to everyone — including people with disabilities. We apply WCAG 2.2 Level AA as our minimum standard, with Level AAA criteria applied wherever reasonably achievable, and Universal Design Principles throughout.

We practise what we advocate. Accessibility is not an afterthought on this site — it is a design requirement from the first line of code.

Measures Taken

This website has been built with the following accessibility measures:

• Skip navigation link at the top of every page, allowing keyboard users to bypass repeated navigation
• Semantic HTML5 structure — proper use of headings, landmarks, lists, and document structure
• ARIA labels and roles where semantic HTML alone is insufficient
• Keyboard navigable throughout — no mouse required for any function
• Visible focus indicators meeting WCAG 2.2 Focus Appearance criteria
• Sufficient colour contrast — all text meets or exceeds 4.5:1 ratio (WCAG AA)
• No content flashes more than three times per second
• All images have meaningful alt text or are marked decorative
• Language attribute set to lang="en-ZA" for correct screen reader pronunciation
• Mobile-responsive and reflow-compatible at all zoom levels up to 400%
• No time limits on any content or interaction

Known Limitations

We test regularly and address issues as we find them. If you encounter a barrier we have not yet identified, please let us know — we take every report seriously and aim to resolve confirmed issues within 5 business days.

Blog content is written by Fadila Lagadien and reviewed for accessibility before publication. Older posts are reviewed and updated on a rolling basis.
